I'm Amani Lee and I am the founder of the Amani Forever brand. I own and operate Amani Forever Beauty, an online beauty supply store geared to celebrating our culture through our unique beauty. My brand is centered around giving back to the community which has supported me. My name Amani is derived from my grandmother’s name, Alice Maniece. Amani is also Swahilian for peace and harmony, leading to the phrase, harmony and peace forever.
It’s always been my dream to have a beauty supply store! I went to grad school to pursue my MBA in hopes that it would help me open and operate my store, but it wasn't for me. So I dropped out, dyed my hair purple, shaved it all off and moved to Los Angeles! And here I am today, blessed and highly favored!
Positive representations of black women are important, especially for our impressionable youth. As a black woman, my femininity combined with my intelligence makes me unstoppable! I want the younger generation of girls to be inspired by me and the other businesses we feature in this space.
